Personal Information:

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Sherri Syptak and this is my 30th year in education.    I've taught about 16 years in middle school and 13 years in elementary education.  I'm married and have 3 children, 2 step children and 4 grandchildren.   I am so blessed to have such a big family.  My hobbies include playing guitar, exercising, swimming, and spending time with my family.  I also enjoy working with flowers.  I’ve played in a praise band for 22 years and have worked in youth ministry.

We are going to have a very busy school year of learning.  Our goals for the year are to develop a better understanding of math and master all the fifth grade objectives and work to get each student ready for middle school.    We will be developing a math learning journal this year.  The journals will be used all year to keep track of strategies and notes that will help clarify and strengthen mathematical learning.  Students will bring their learning journals home to study at least twice during the nine week grading period.   The journals will be graded each 9 week period and can be used on all open note tests.

I am looking forward to the 22-23 school year!!   Each year is such a blessing to work with students and watch them grow in confidence and improve thier mathematical skills.  I am very thankful, grateful and blessed to be a part of Holiday ISD.  Holliay Eagles roll on!!!
