Listed below are the requirements for application:

  • At the beginning of the 2nd semester, a list of all 11th and 12th graders with a raw cumulative average of 92 or above, using only core subjects, will be created. Students must also be taking honors level classes or dual credit classes.
  • You must have a 3.200+ cumulative grade point average. GPAs below 3.2 will NOT be rounded up.
  • New students must have completed an entire semester at Holliday to be eligible.
  • You must have at least 4 teacher nominations, to complete the candidate activity form. 
  • Candidates must have completed 15 hours of community service. These hours must be served from the time of starting high school until the time of filling out the candidate packet. These hours must be logged, documented and signed off on by a supervising adult. 
  • You must be involved in school activities.
  • After each member of the faculty council has reviewed the forms, there will be a council meeting to discuss each nominee individually. It is at this meeting that a vote will be taken. Candidates must receive a majority of the votes in order to be accepted into the NHS organization. 
  • The chapter adviser will send each nominee a letter stating whether or not he or she has been offered membership into NHS.
  • The new members will then be invited to the mandatory induction ceremony where they will be inducted into the Alpha Chapter of NHS.
