UIL Literary Criticism

In Literary Criticism, we take literature to the next level.

If you love to read and think deeply about those works of literature, Literary Criticism might be the UIL event for you!

Each year, along with an intense study of literary terms, literary periods, & prize winners (all contained in The Handbook of Literature), the team studies a novel, a play, and a poet that the UIL Literary Criticism state director selects.  In 2024-2025, the team is studying the following works:

Short Stories of Washington Irving

Much Ado About Nothing

Poetry of Emily Dickinson

See Mr. Ard to join the team!!!  Practices are each Thursday from 3:15-5:00.
