UIL Social Studies

If you are a lover of history, government, and/or geography, the UIL Social Studies contest is for you!  Each year, the UIL State Office selects a topic area that the Social Studies contest focuses upon for that school year.  Competitors read a non-fiction book concerning that topic and study a variety of facts before taking a multiple-choice test over the subject matter at each meet.  As a part of the test, students also write an expository essay over a given aspect of the topic area.
